Core Duties of RPNs

Below are the key duties our RPNs perform, either independently or as part of a collaborative team:

Medication Management

Daily Monitoring

Patient Advocacy

Utilizing first aid knowledge in emergency situations to ensure client safety.

Safety Awareness

Being vigilant about safety issues, fulfilling responsibilities in a safe manner, and promoting good safety practices among staff.

Client Confidentiality

Upholding the confidentiality of client information at all times.

Team Collaboration

Working collaboratively as a team member to deliver comprehensive care.

Physical Capabilities

Performing essential physical activities, including kneeling, standing, reaching, and more, to meet client needs effectively.

Daily Assessments

In addition to the core duties, our RPNs conduct daily assessments to monitor the health status of clients. These assessments include:

Vital Signs Monitoring: Regularly checking blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and oxygen saturation to identify any changes in health.
Physical Assessments: Evaluating the overall physical condition, including mobility, skin integrity, and any signs of discomfort or pain.
Cognitive Assessments: Observing and documenting any changes in mental status, behaviour, or cognitive function.
Nutritional Evaluations: Assessing dietary intake and nutritional needs to ensure proper nutrition is being maintained.
Emotional and Psychological Assessments: Monitoring mood and emotional well-being to provide necessary support and interventions.

Home Care Services Provided by RPNs

Personal Care Assistance: Helping clients with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, and dressing to promote independence and dignity.
